Nowadays, the use of non-oil materials with desirable properties, and at the same time reducing the adverse environmental impacts and production costs have become one of the most important issues in the industry. Chitosan, as one of the most abundant bio-polymers in nature has got unique properties, including high bio-compatibility, non-toxicity, acceptable antimicrobial properties, and excellent performance in terms of film formation. These properties have potentially made this biopolymer so useful in the industries of Packaging, Textile, Textile Engineering and Medicine. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effective factors on the mechanical properties of chitosan bio-composites. The factors such as type, concentration percentage, pH, and functional groups of solvents used to make composites that are used as polymer phase fasteners; and also, the effect of different plasticizers on different weight percentages for reducing the fragility of chitosan films are included in this study. It was observed that the addition of each of these materials, due to their structure and molecular weight, weight percentage, distribution pattern at the matrix level, functional groups on their molecules and also the effect on the structure of chitosan polymeric chains, can cause a change to the properties of this bio-composite.
