Abstract

Nowadays people are living and working in the state of radiations. The development of electronic science and technology, electronic equipment, etc. Has been widely used various fields. An excessive use of electronic device gives rise to unwanted and undesirable byproduct, which is a novel kind of pollution called electromagnetic interference (EMI). Although traditional metals and their alloys can serv as good electromagnetic shielding materials, their heavy weight, high cost as well as poor corrosion resistance limit their application in EMI shielding. Therefore, electromagnetic shielding materials with lightweight are gradually attracting more and more attention to meet the rend of lightweight and highly integrated electronic equipment. Polymeric Material and their composites have been used as EMI shielding materials due to their characteristics like lightweight, good corrosive resistance, superior electrical, thermal, mechanical and magnetic properties. These lightweight materials with fine EMI shielding performance will find more and more potential applications in communications, electronics, aerospace, military, etc. In this article, the phenomenon of electromagnetic interference and its types of shielding by polymeric materials and its composites and their shielding effectiveness have been reviewed.
