Peer Review Process

When the manuscript is received online by the journal, after an initial technical review and assessment of its compliance with the journal author guidelines, if accepted at this stage, it is sent to the editor. The editor reviews the relevance of the article's subject matter and, if approved, the article is sent for review. Three experienced scientific reviewers in the field of the article are found and asked to review the article. The aims and scope of the journal will outline their peer review policy in detail. A minimum of two independent reviewers is normally required for every article.

The reviewers’ comments received are sent to the author, along with any additional technical comments. The comments may consist of only a few straightforward recommendations (minor amendment) or more substantial changes (major amendment).

The author must amend the article according to the reviewers’ comments and resubmit it to the journal within the specified deadline. After receiving the manuscript, the editor will look through the revisions. Often, the article is sent to the same reviewers a second time to assess how the author responds to the referees’ comments. After this stage, the author may be asked to make further corrections or the editor may reject the article due to insufficient changes. If the amendment complies with the reviewers’ comments, the article is accepted for publication.
